The Tale of Tiffany Lust
1981, dir. Radley Metzger & Gérard Kikoïne
“…a woman whose time has come”
Tiffany (Dominique Saint Claire) is a beautiful and elegant woman with seemingly everything that life can offer—except for the attention of her distant husband, David (George Payne). Deciding to finally break free from her mundane existence, Tiffany leaves a farewell note and books an appointment with a sex worker named Betty (Veronica Hart) to help release her inhibitions and explore her hidden desires. Betty in turn sends Tiffany to a taping of a popular sex-themed radio show hosted by Florence Nightingale (Vanessa del Rio), which really opens her eyes to the realm of sensual possibilities. But as each erotic expeirnece becomes more outrageous than the last, Tiffany begins to wonder if sexual liberation truly is better than monogamous love.
Long shrouded in mystery but only recently revealed to have been secretly helmed by none other than Radley Metzger (The Opening of Misty Beethoven) with the assistance of one of France’s top makers of elegant erotica, Gérard Kikoïne (Edge of Sanity), The Tale of Tiffany Lust is a light-hearted romantic comedy and a fascinating blend of American and European filmmaking sensibilities.
